Significance of Triquetra/Trinity knot:
‘Three’ is an important concept in Celtic mythology e.g. the existence of three material domains (earth, sea and sky), three spiritual worlds (earth, heaven and the underworld) and ‘triple goddesses.’ Triquetra/trinity symbols and triangular knots depict the balance, harmony and stability of this three-fold worldview.
Significance of Black Onyx:
A hard stone with a solid, lacquer-like finish, the black onyx is commonly found in Brazil, China, Madagascar, the UK and the US. It has been used in hardstone carving, pottery and jewellery for centuries and was popular as a ‘mourning stone’ during the Victorian era. In some cultures, it is prized for its protective properties.
