Significance of the Triquetra/Trinity Knot:

‘Three’ is an important concept in Celtic mythology e.g. the existence of three material domains (earth, sea and sky), three spiritual worlds (earth, heaven and the underworld) and ‘triple goddesses.’ Triquetra/trinity symbols and triangular knots depict this three-fold worldview.

Significance of Red Garnet:

A deep, warm red stone with a glass-like lustre, garnets have been used in jewellery since early Egyptian, Greek and Roman times. Explorers and travellers wore garnet as a talisman and protective stone as it was believed to light up the night and protect its bearer from evil and disaster. It is said that Noah, from the Old Testament, used a garnet lantern to help him steer his ark through the dark night.
