Significance of Tree of Life:

With their canopies in the heavens and their roots in the ground, trees held sacred significance for the Celts. Tree groves were believed to be 'living temples' - meeting places for worship and rituals, a relief from everyday duties, and a refuge from danger. The seasonal cycle of trees was linked to death, rebirth and growth; and the trees’ lifespan linked to longevity.
